My Thoughts on Humans Expectations versus Universal Alignment

Much of the stress and disappointment in life stems from chasing rigid expectations rather than accepting the universe's natural course. True fulfillment comes from pausing to be grateful for the present moment rather than constantly moving the goalpost.

I had a strange, quiet revelation today. I think most of what we expect from life is just an expectation, and it rarely turns out the way we imagine, because the universe often has its own direction for us. When there's a wide gap between what we hoped for and what actually happens, we call it failure and build a whole painful story around it. That's not to say hard work and pointing yourself in the right direction don't matter; they do. But I think we grow up carrying so many expectations that when things don't go our way, we feel crushed, and even when they do go well, the joy is fleeting before we start reaching for the next big thing. We spend our whole lives doing this, always moving the goalpost, never really stopping to sit with what we already have and just be grateful.

Today I sat with everything I've wanted to achieve in life, and I realized most of it was just expectation, things that may or may not happen no matter how hard I push, because if they don't align with something bigger than me, some kind of universal balance, they simply won't happen. That doesn't mean I stop working, or that I hand everything over to chance. What I mean is: most of what we truly prayed for and cared about, deep down, we've actually received. And most of what we didn't get, the things we keep chasing and grieving for, either don't matter as much as we think, or they were never really ours to want at that time, just society whispering in our ear. And we chase them anyway, without ever pausing to actually question it.

I think the most beautiful way to live is right here, in the moment, grateful for what's already in front of us. And honestly, I have to admit, some of my best moments so far have been with you. It makes me sad that we see things so differently in ways neither of us is ready to bend on, but I still hold onto that gratitude.

It's been a beautiful week. Hope your week went well like you have planned.
